Café Yuzu is a bakeshop located within Gallery Mugen in the thriving River Arts District of Asheville, NC. Here you will find pastries in the spirit of European bakeries and coffee houses, often enhanced by Japanese ingredients like matcha, ginger and, of course, yuzu -- the aromatic citrus fruit for which the shop is named.
Our offerings include artful sweet and savory pastries from West Asheville’s Old World Levain Bakery (also known as Owl Bakery) and Sweet and Natural, a restaurant and caterer located in Lake Toxaway. We also carry locally made crackers and flatbreads from Asheville’s Roots and Branches. Pour-over coffee, seasonal specialty drinks (hot chocolate, matcha lattes, honey yuzu tea), Devil’s Foot ginger beers and lemonade, and loose leaf teas sourced from Dobra Tea are also featured, and everything is served on ceramic ware made by Akira Satake.
Bistro tables and chairs within the gallery and a picnic table out back offer visitors to the River Arts District as well as our local artists a chance to stop and enjoy a snack and conversation with friends, or simply a quiet break during a busy day.
We hope to see you soon!
